People For a United DC
THE STAKES Are high.

The 2026 election for mayor in Washington, D.C. represents a defining moment for our city. Across the District, residents are facing rising costs of living—from housing and utilities to childcare and everyday expenses. Families and small businesses alike are feeling the pressure of a challenging economy.
Voters face an urgent choice: whose leadership will guide the District through this critical period? Do we want an experienced mayor with a practical, achievable plan and the means to deliver it—or splashy, big-ticket policy proposals and empty promises?
The 2026 Democratic primary presents a clear contrast between two competing approaches to governing the District. One vision focuses on common-sense solutions that lower costs, expand opportunity, and hold government accountable for real results. The other proposes unproven policy changes that many believe are not achievable and place new burdens on the District’s economy and ability to reliably deliver services.
The 2026 Democratic Primary held on June 16 will determine the District’s next mayor—and our city’s future.
Our goal
A practical path forward
District residents need progress that delivers results without chaos—so we can adapt and prosper in these challenging times. Across the city, families are asking for the same basic things: a government that keeps the cost of living manageable, expands economic opportunity across every ward, continues to improve public safety, and is accountable to the people who call the District home. Ultimately, District residents need progress that delivers results without chaos—so we can adapt and prosper in these challenging times. The more pragmatic vision centers on three priorities:
Lowering the cost of housing, utilities, and child care, so working families can remain in the communities they helped build.
Strengthening schools, supporting small businesses, diversifying the economy, and expanding job pipelines so economic growth reaches every neighborhood.
Ensuring that District government protects public safety, shields our most vulnerable from harmful federal overreach, and remains accountable to the residents it serves.
